The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has barred a member of the House of Representatives, Lukman Mudashiru, from entering his palace.

Mudashiru, who represents the Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency and is a member of the Accord Party, was accused of not maintaining the expected relationship with the traditional leadership.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, the Oluwo emphasized the importance of respect and accountability from political office holders within his domain.
โThe position of the Oluwo demands respect and accountability from elected representatives within the district,โ the monarch stated.
He further stressed that the Oluwo remains the traditional head of the district, and as such, deserves proper recognition from those representing the people politically.

Oba Akanbi noted that politicians representing the area are expected to give regular updates about their activities, as they are serving the interests of the same community under the traditional authority.
According to him, both elected and appointed officials owe the palace a sense of stewardship and accountability.
