Residents of Kam community for Tongov district in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State dey live for fear after suspected gunmen kidnap and kill their kindred head, Chief Sughter Agamber.

Reports say the attackers carry the traditional leader go on Friday for Kam village when dem storm the area with guns.

After the incident, local authorities and traditional leaders quickly begin efforts to secure his release. The Tor Sankera, the Ter Katsina-Ala, together with the chairmen of Katsina-Ala and Ukum local government areas reportedly try everything possible to negotiate for his freedom.

Sadly, the efforts no succeed.

By Saturday morning, residents discover the lifeless body of Chief Agamber inside nearby bush, raising suspicion say the gunmen kill am shortly after dem abduct am.

The killing don cause serious panic for Kam community as many residents don run leave their homes because dem fear say more attacks fit happen. Sources say the area don almost empty as people dey look for safer places to stay.

Observers say the murder of the kindred head show say insecurity for the Sankera axis — especially Katsina-Ala — still dey worsen.

The incident also raise concern about growing attacks on traditional institutions, as criminal groups now dey target community leaders alongside ordinary residents.

Authorities never release official statement about the killing as at the time of this report, but residents dey call for urgent action to stop the rising insecurity for the area.
