The musician had been receiving treatment at Albany Medical Center in New York after suffering a stroke and reportedly underwent two surgeries while in intensive care before his passing.
Cary joined Sixpence None the Richer in 1997 and became an integral part of the band’s success. The group is best known for its global hit “Kiss Me,” which became one of the most recognizable songs of the late 1990s and earned a Grammy nomination.
