Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has clarified that his relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, should not be interpreted as support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential second-term bid in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, March 26, Saraki emphasized that he operates transparently and does not engage in secret political dealings.
“I don’t do things at night. I’m not a night person. If I’m going to do something, I come out openly and state my position,” he said.
🤝 Friendship with Wike Not Political Endorsement
Saraki explained that his friendship with Wike is focused on strengthening the opposition party, not supporting any presidential ambition.
According to him, the relationship is based on efforts to reposition the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and ensure it remains a strong platform for future elections.
“You can’t interpret my friendship with Wike as an endorsement. Our discussions are about the future of the party,” Saraki added.
He also noted that while he and Wike may have different political styles and opinions, collaboration is necessary to keep the party united and functional.

The former Kwara State governor firmly dismissed claims that he is working in support of President Tinubu’s administration.
He stressed that he is not the kind of politician who says one thing and does another, insisting that his political actions are always clear and straightforward.
